She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College in 1979, and completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in the Bronx, in 1984. Dr. Brustman continued at Albert Einstein for fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine, graduating in 1988.
