Dr. John Caponigro earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at St. John’s University, Queens, NY; and received a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at The New York College of Podiatric Medicine in Manhattan. After earning his doctorate degree, he completed a two year residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, in Brooklyn, NY. He completed a third year of training at Saddle Brook Surgical Center, in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, where he specialized in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Currently, Dr. Caponigro is board certified in Foot Surgery and Podiatric Orthopaedics and Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Caponigro has extensive experience in surgical correction of basic bunion and hammertoe deformities as well as surgical management of complex structural foot and ankle conditions and trauma to the foot and ankle. His clinical interests include sports medicine and diabetic wound care. He currently practices in 2 locations; one in Queens, NY and one in Elmwood Park, NJ
