Dr. Ciccone is assistant professor of anesthesiology and pain management in the department of anesthesiology, perioperative and pain medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He completed his undergraduate training at Cornell University and went on to earn his medical degree from Stony Brook School of Medicine. He subsequently completed his board certification residency in anesthesiology at Weill Cornell NY Presbyterian Medical Center. He further went on to fellowship training for pain management at the Tri-institutional program of Weill Cornell, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Hospital for Special Surgery. He specializes in interventional spine, sports and musculoskeletal medicine and procedures, with particular interest in advancing the field of neuromodulation, i.e. nerve stimulation. He specializes in all spine and musculoskeletal techniques, including but not limited to epidural and facet blocks, joint and nerve injections, using various imaging guidance including fluoroscopy and ultrasonography. He also specializes in spinal cord stimulation, platelet-rich plasma techniques, and radio frequency ablation techniques. He is part of the sub-department of integrative pain management and is interested in employing multimodal therapies using technological advances in conjunction with physical therapy.
