Janice Liao, MD, attended the University of Michigan for both her undergraduate studies and medical school on prestigious Dean’s Merit Scholarships. She then trained at the Duke University Eye Center for Ophthalmology residency, and at the Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute for a two year Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery fellowship. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Clinical interests include: Eyelid malposition surgery, Orbital (eye socket) diseases and surgery, Tear duct surgery and tearing, Thyroid eye disease, Orbital (eye socket) and facial trauma, Eyebrow lift surgery, Eyelid and facial reconstruction after skin cancer removal, Eyelid lesion removal, Blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm, Cosmetic eyelid and facial surgery. Dr. Liao also specializes in: Eyelid Disorders, Eyelid Surgery, Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery, Botulinum Toxin Treatment, Tear Duct and Tearing Problems, Dry Eye, Eye Trauma, Cosmetic Filler Treatment, Aesthetic Surgery Consultation and Eye and Orbital Tumors. Her recent research interests include: timing of surgical repair of orbital fractures, age-related differences in the management of orbital infections, and changes in eye pressure during orbital surgery. Dr. Liao has presented her research at national, regional, and local conferences and has published her work in prominent Ophthalmology journals.
