Jamilia Sly, PhD

About Me

Dr. Jamilia Sly is an Assistant Professor of Population Health Science and Policy and member of the Tisch Cancer Institute’s Cancer Prevention and Control Program. Dr. Sly's background and training in community psychology underscores her passion for working with underserved populations as well as her commitment to developing interventions to improve health disparities. Her research is focused on understanding how psychological and social barriers may be understood in the context of developing clinical and community-based interventions to reduce and ultimately eliminate disparities in cancer mortality. Dr. Sly is experienced in collaborating with community-based organizations in New York City on research and educational outreach efforts.
