Iris Mandell, MD is Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital and the Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team. She graduated from Ross University School of Medicine before completing her Pediatric residency and Chief year at Cohen Children's Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY. She completed her Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital. She was previously an ICU Attending in both the PICU and Cardiac ICU at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Dr. Mandell's main research interest has been the use of procalcitonin and other biomarkers in pediatric sepsis. Her other focus is the use of PEWS (Pediatric Early Warning Score) in the identification of patients at risk for early readmission to the ICU. She has published in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Journal of Critical Care.
