About Me

Dr. Ian Holzman is Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics in the Division of Newborn Medicine in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and he completed his pediatric training at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. He did a fellowship in neonatology at the University of Colorado and then was on the neonatal faculty at the University of Pittsburgh prior to coming to Mount Sinai where he was the Chief of Newborn Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences.

He served as the Vice Chair for Hospital Operations and Faculty Affairs in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics. Among other responsibilities, Dr. Holzman was the President of the Independent Physicians Organization, the Chair of the Ethics Committee and the In-Patient Operations Committee, and a member of the Board of Governors of the Faculty Practice Association. He also served on the Hospital Professionalism Committee, the Credentials Committee, the Appointments and Promotions Committee, the Emergency Management Committee and various Quality Assurance Committees. Dr. Holzman also served as the Director of Newborn Services for the Mount Sinai Health System.
