About Me

Dr. Harry Schanzer graduated from the University of Chile Medical School in 1968. He moved to the United States in 1971 where he did a residency in Surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital. He graduated as Chief Resident in 1976. Following his residency, he joined the full time faculty of the Mount Sinai Department of Surgery, as an attending in Transplantation and Vascular Surgery. In 1985 he was promoted to Professor of Surgery. Since 1995 Dr. Schanzer has been a member of the voluntary staff, with a private practice in Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Schanzer has been a prolific researcher, having published more than 140 papers in major surgical journals, more than 15 chapters in vascular surgical texts, and one movie illustrating a surgical procedure invented by him. He has been an invited lecturer in numerous national and international meetings.
