Fadi F Attiyeh, MD

About Me

Dr. Fadi F. Attiyeh is a surgical oncologist, board certified in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. He did his fellowship in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Attiyeh's areas of interest include colorectal cancer. He has extensive experience in the treatment of rectal cancer, with emphasis on total mesorectal excision with preservation of sphincteric, sexual, and urinary functions. Dr. Attiyeh's other interests are in the surgical management of benign and malignant diseases of the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas. He has a large experience in the treatment of liver metastases, and in Whipple's resections. In addition, he started a program of intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemotherapy for peritoneal carcinomatosis. Dr. Attiyeh is Chief of the Hepatobiliary/Pancreatic Service at Mount Sinai West Hospital Center, Formerly St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center, and Professor of Surgery at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He was elected President of the New York Surgical Society (2006-2007), and President of the New York Cancer Society (2007-2008).
