Dr. Emily Lu is an Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the Division of Nephrology and the Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine.   She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University, concentrating in Biology with a secondary field in the History of Art and Architecture. She earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and subsequently completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at Weill Cornell Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center.    Dr. Lu’s clinical and research interests focus on the integration of Palliative Care in chronic kidney disease management and Nephrology education. She has also developed museum programs designed to engage individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia in the visual arts within a supportive community.
