"Elizabeth Lorde-Rollins, MD, MSc, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with a background that spans the humanities and both allopathic and alternative medicine. She is interested in all aspects of general obstetrics and gynecology, adolescent gynecology, anf From 2004-2012, she was an assistant professor and faculty physician at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, where she provided ambulatory and surgical gynecologic care for teens and young women and worked closely with Residents and Fellows training in Adolescent Medicine; at the Greenwich Clinic she provided gynecology care for HIV-positive women. Dr. Lorde-Rollins completed a master’s degree in clinical research in 2006; as part of her final project, she designed the examination protocols and led the clinical team for an NIH-funded study of oral, anal, and cervical human Papillomavirus in young women. She has published on this topic, on HIV and other infectious diseases, on adolescent medicine in general, and on adolescent lesbian gynecology. She has spoken widely on these and other topics within obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Lorde-Rollins received her BA degree in psychology and social relations from Harvard-Radcliffe College of Harvard University in 1985; from 1983-1985, she was recipient of the Elizabeth Cary Agassiz Scholarship. After graduation from Radcliffe, she held a variety of teaching roles in New York City. In 1993, she completed her doctorate of medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons; while there, she was recipient of the Malcolm X Scholarship. She went on to train in obstetrics and gynecology at Sloane Hospital for Women of Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, graduating in 1997. She has provided obstetrical and gynecological care in a variety of settings, including Harlem Hospital Center, Wayne Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania, and the Ryan Community Health Center in New York City. Most recently, she completed a certificate program in acupuncture and Chinese medicine at the University of California-Irvine in 2013, and a re-entry fellowship in obstetrics and gynecology at the Maricopa County Medical Center, in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2014. As a community activist on a number of fronts, Dr. Lorde-Rollins has received awards including the 2013 Stonewall Honors, Stonewall Community Foundation; 2010 Breakfast of Legends Honoree, Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center; and 2000 Community Leader of the Year, Survivor’s Resource Network of Northeastern Pennsylvania. "
