Edward Yang, MD, is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Chief of Orthopaedics at Mount Sinai Queens. He received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the NYU Langone Medical Center’s Hospital for Joint Diseases. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Yang has been a faculty member of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai since 1989. He specializes in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries including fractures, dislocations, sprains, and strains, as well as total joint replacements and skeletal reconstruction of nonunion and malunion. Dr. Yang previously held the position of Regional Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at Elmhurst Hospital Center and Queens Medical Center. He has published several peer reviewed articles and is also conducting research on hip fractures.
A fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Yang is also an active member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the Academic Orthopaedic Society, the American Fracture Association and the Chinese American Medical Society. He has received awards in teaching and service and is also an Honorary Police Surgeon of the City of New York.
