Donna Mildvan, MD, Fellow, American College of Physicians; Fellow, Infectious Diseases Society of America; Attending in Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Mount Sinai Beth Israel; Professor of Medicine, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai; formerly Chief, Division of Infectious Diseases/AIDS, Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Dr. Mildvan was Co-Principal Investigator/Principal Investigator, AIDS Clinical Trials Group (1987-2008) and responsible for early  descriptions of AIDS and complications of HIV infection, including the lymphadenopathy syndrome, and investigations demonstrating LAV (HIV) in the first US AIDS cases and the first convincing evidence that the brain harbored and could transmit HIV. Research focus includes antiretroviral drug development, innovation in biomarker research and study design, championing diversity in clinical trials participation, and optimizing management of community acquired pneumonia and antimicrobial prescribing to reduce emergence of drug resistance.
