About Me

Dr. Altman is an Internal Medicine physician, sub-specializing in Infectious Diseases (ID). She completed a 3-year fellowship in ID in addition to a Master of Clinical Research at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her research focus is on patient-oriented studies of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) pathogenesis, epidemiology, and genomics. She investigates the capabilities of genomics to delineate both intra- and inter-host adaptation. She is the initiator of the collaborative Pathogen Surveillance Program (PSP) which uses genomics to define pathogen diversity at the Mount Sinai Health System.
