About Me

Dr. Daniel Musikantow joined the Zena and Michael A. Wiener Cardiovascular Institute fulltime faculty on July 1st 2021, in the role of Assistant Professor of Medicine. Dr. Musikantow graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York as Magna Cum Laude and as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He subsequently completed his internal medicine residency at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center and then his fellowship in cardiovascular disease as part of the Academic Track at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He remained at Mount Sinai for his cardiac electrophysiology fellowship, serving as Chief Fellow in his final year.

His clinical focus involves catheter-based therapies of cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, complex atrial flutters and ventricular ectopy. Additionally, he performs various other interventional procedures, including pacemaker and defibrillator implantation and left atrial appendage occlusion. Dr. Musikantow attends on the inpatient cardiac electrophysiology services at the Mount Sinai Hospital and participates in the education of both general cardiology and electrophysiology fellows. His research interests include arrhythmic sequelae of the COVID-19 virus and novel catheter-based therapeutics in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
