About Me

Dr. Christopher Clemens has practiced Pediatric medicine since 1996 and joined Mount Sinai in 2016. After completing his undergraduate studies at DePauw University, Dr. Clemens graduated with his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He then moved to The Johns Hopkins Hospital where he completed both his internship and residency in Pediatrics. With his certification by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Clemens works with patients ages 0 to 21 for their primary care needs.

In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Clemens has taught at The Icahn School of Medicine for over 10 years. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, where he maintains leadership roles in developing curricula for medical students, improving quality of communications between physicians and patients, and optimizing implementation of electronic medical records. He is also the Medical Director of Ambulatory Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Queens and has authored chapters on immunoprophylaxis and immunology for The Harriet Lane Handbook.

When practicing medicine, Dr. Clemens finds that his curiosity about music and cultures from around the world often acts as a bridge to fully understand and value the perspective of his patients, thus helping him to better care for them as a physician. Outside of the office, Dr. Clemens and his wife live with their two young sons in Astoria, where he often greets patients on family walks in the neighborhood.
