About Me

Chi Chan, PhD is a clinical psychologist licensed in New York state. She is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Research Scientist at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center (JJPVAMC), and Director of the VA Advanced Fellowship in Mental Illness Research and Treatment at the VISN 2 Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center at the JJPVAMC. Dr. Chan is involved in research on the neurobiological and cognitive mechanisms associated with severe mental illness including psychotic-spectrum disorders, severe affective disorders, and suicide. 

Dr. Chan also sees patients as part of the Mount Sinai Psychiatry Faculty Practice Associates. Dr. Chan specializes in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with psychosis, anxiety, and depression. She applies evidence-based cognitive-behavioral approaches to address difficulties with mood regulation, interpersonal relationships, and work/school functioning. Dr. Chan has extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other techniques tailored to the individual needs of the patient.
