Avnish Deobhakta, MD, completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University and his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College. He subsequently completed his Ophthalmology residency at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami and then finished a 2-year surgical retina fellowship at Columbia University. Some of his research interests include experimental treatment modalities for Age Related Macular Degeneration, novel surgical techniques for Retinal Detachment and other surgical retinal diseases, and unique imaging techniques for retinal disease. Dr. Avnish Deobhakta is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and The American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Deobhakta's research and expertise have been featured in a variety of publications, including CNN, NPR, the Wall Street Journal, and NBC (shown below), as well as the LA Times, the Washington Post, WebMD, USA Today, among others.
