Ann Marie Beddoe, MD, MPH, is the Director of the Division of Global Women’s Health and an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Beddoe also is the Director of the Global Women’s Health Fellowship Program at the School of Medicine. She specializes in gynecologic oncology.
Dr. Beddoe has led the Division in assessing reproductive health needs and offering quality sustainable programs in each of the Division’s sites: Liberia, Colombia, South Africa, and the Dominican Republic. Dr. Beddoe has forged important alliances and buy-in with the Ministries of Health in respective countries, developed training programs, and provided mentorship to local professionals in assuming the responsibilities of driving future health care services. Dr. Beddoe combines her training in gynecologic oncology with global women’s health, affording her the opportunity to conduct research focusing on disparities in access to cancer care in low and mid-income countries.
Dr. Beddoe earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn. She also completed a fellowship in Clinical Nutrition at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
