Andrew Petelin, MD is a board-certified primary care doctor and infectious disease specialist at Mount Sinai Doctors, seeing patients Monday – Friday in the East Village. Trained in Illinois and New York, he is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease and is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America and the American College of Physicians. He was awarded his medical degree from the University of Illinois and completed his residency in Internal Medicine St. Vincent’s Medical Center and his fellowship in Infectious Disease at Winthrop University Hospital. He specializes in treatment plans for chronic medical conditions, acute illnesses, and diseases, such as HIV, Hepatitis B & C, lyme disease, hypertension, heart disease, asthma, diabetes, skin/wound infections, pneumonia, and infections in returning travelers. He has a particular interest in counseling for PrEP and travel vaccinations.
