About Me

Amanda Walsh, MD is a fellowship trained Hand and Upper Extremity surgeon and Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Walsh earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Mathematics at Georgetown University where she was an NCAA Division I distance runner. She received her medical degree at New York Medical College, graduating with honors. She then completed her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. For her subspecialty training, Dr. Walsh completed the Hand and Upper Extremity fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. During fellowship, Dr. Walsh had the opportunity to have integrated orthopedic surgery and plastic surgery training rounding out her skill set in treatment of upper extremity pathology as well as soft tissue, peripheral nerve and microvascular pathology throughout the body.


Dr. Walsh specializes in all aspects of upper extremity surgery including arthritic and traumatic disorders of the hand, wrist, forearm and elbow.  Her expertise includes minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures, treatment of peripheral nerve pathology, pediatric hand conditions, congenital hand conditions, microsurgical reconstruction and upper extremity trauma. Dr. Walsh is academically active having published multiple clinical research articles in the area of hand and upper extremity surgery and has presented her work at national and international meetings.
