Dr. Alex Manini is Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He practices emergency medicine at Elmhurst Hospital Center. He is the Director of the Toxicology Research Core in the Emergency Medicine Research Division, and is also the Associate Program Director of the T32 Clinician Scientist Training Program focused on emergency care research.

Dr. Manini’s clinical research focus is on prevention of adverse cardiovascular consequences for patients with acute drug overdose and medical consequences of fentanyl analogue overdose. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications. He has received research grant support from the National Institutes of Health as well as the Emergency Medicine Foundation, Medical Toxicology Foundation, and the Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program, among others. He mentors junior investigators from multiple levels of training on research methodology: undergraduate students, medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty.
