Adi Avivi, PsyD
Adi Avivi, Psy.D. Dr. Avivi is a clinical psychologist working in New York City. She has been working in urban hospitals focusing her clinical work on disenfranchised populations in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings. Dr. Avivi graduated from Long Island University - Post Campus' clinical psychology doctoral program, where she focused her studies on severe mental illness, multiculturalism, and women’s issues. During her doctoral training, Dr. Avivi worked at various short- and long-term inpatient psychiatric hospitals in NYC. She completed her internship at Kings County Hospital Center and a post-doctoral fellowship at North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital. Her research interest focused on women and the political and economic components influencing their psyches and identities. Her own study examined Internet communication among childfree women. After her graduation, Dr. Avivi joined LIU Post’s mentoring program and serves as a mentor to current PsyD candidates. Dr. Avivi is also a graduate of LIU Post’s Service Disparity Fellowship, The Jewish Organizing Institute Fellowship for Justice, and NYSPA’s leadership Institute. She is a board member of NYSPA’s Division of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity.
