Aaron R Patterson, MD
About Me
Dr. Patterson is a board-certified adult psychiatrist who is currently accepting private patients for medication management, cognitive behavioral therapy, or psychodynamic psychotherapy. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
As an Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine, Dr. Patterson is engaged in teaching medical students and residents. He has experience working in emergency psychiatry and inpatient psychiatry. Currently, he is serving as the Associate Chief Medical Information Officer for the Downtown Campus of the Mount Sinai Health System. He completed his postgraduate training in Adult Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. During this time, he was selected to serve as Chief Resident and received The Albert Einstein College of Medicine Teaching Award for his efforts in medical education. He is a graduate of the innovative Boonshoft Physician Leadership Development Program at Wright State University, where he completed his M.D. and M.B.A. At Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Patterson completed a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, magna cum laude, and a Master of Arts in Medical Anthropology with High Honors. Dr. Patterson has held national leadership positions with the American Medical Student Association and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his excellence in clinical care, leadership, compassion, and dedication to service.
He continues to serve on a range of committees in the health system aimed at advancing the quality of care provided to patients, improving clinician decision support, and in using technology to enhance the educational training experience for residents and medical students. He has published his work in medical informatics and continues to be actively engaged in the emerging field of medical informatics. He has conducted research through an HIV/AIDS grant with the City of Cleveland and worked in human relations with the National Conference for Community and Justice.
