Financial Services

Mount Sinai offers services to help you navigate the process of paying for your medical bills.

Resource, Entitlement and Advocacy Program (REAP)

The REAP program is part of the Department of Social Work Services at The Mount Sinai Hospital. REAP helps you apply for government health insurance programs such as Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and qualified health plans through the New York State of Health insurance marketplace.

REAP services are available to you if:

• You have an unpaid bill from the Emergency Department or one of the outpatient practices at The Mount Sinai Hospital;
• You are a patient at any of the hospitals in the Mount Sinai Health System.

The best way to get an appointment is through a referral by your Social Worker. You can speak to a Social Worker by asking a member of your health care team. You may also be able to set up an appointment by calling the REAP office at 212-423-2800 Monday through Friday between 9 am and 5 pm.

Charity Care Program

Mount Sinai also offers a Financial Assistance program for patients who are uninsured or otherwise unable to pay for care. This program is not part of the Department of Social Work Services. Learn more about applying for hospital financial assistance.

The Transplant Living Center

Provides a “home away from home” in NYC for Mount Sinai transplant patients and their families. Has free shuttle service to Mount Sinai. Patients must have a caregiver staying with them.
