The men's grooming market had $1.5 billion in sales in 2010, up 1.4 percent from the previous year, according to Mintel International, a market research firm. That slow rate of growth – women ages 18 to 24 fork over $200 million a month, according to NPD Group – is partly because men simply aren't as interested as women in beauty products, says Dr. Michelle Copeland, a board-certified plastic and cosmetic surgeon and assistant professor of clinical surgery at New York's Mount Sinai Medical School of Medicine.
