The Barbara and Maurice Deane Center for Wellness and Cognitive Health

At The Barbara and Maurice Deane Center for Wellness and Cognitive Health, our mission is to provide a global interdisciplinary approach to care for persons living with dementia and other related disorders. We also support those in the growing population of older adults who have healthy brains and bodies.

As part of our new program, The Deane Center page has moved to a new home. Please visit The Barbara and Maurice Deane Healthy Brain Initiative for information on conditions we treat, neurological examinations, preparing for your first visit, and more information on the Healthy Brain Initiative.

Be it challenges with remembering things, finding words or changes in behavior and mood, each person with cognitive or behavioral concerns has their own set of medical and environmental circumstances. The Deane Center for Wellness and Cognitive Health treats each patient individually, with a team of internationally recognized neurologists, neuropsychologists, nurses, social workers and neuroscientists working together to personalize the best treatment plan for you.

Through our extensive evaluation process, we carefully assess your condition then create a coordinated management plan that relies on the newest available therapies. We offer compassionate and empathic treatment for the full range of cognitive disorders, including dementias such as Alzheimer’s disease, where we work with both those affected by the dementia and their loved ones to develop a personalized care plan. We also provide treatments for cognitive symptoms related to other conditions like epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and multiple sclerosis. With such skilled care to offer, we are one of five medical centers in the country selected as part of the Neurological Care Program for retired National Football League players.

Through our collaborations with Mount Sinai research centers such as the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, we give our patients access to the newest and most promising therapies in the form of clinical trials. As part of the  Friedman Brain Institute, we are active in research programs seeking to discover the underlying causes of cognitive and related neuropsychiatric disorders.

Our commitment to science and patient care allows us to provide our patients and their loved ones with the best available therapies. We provide expert guidance through the journey of navigating cognitive and behavioral brain conditions.
