Learning Disabilities Evaluation

The early identification of learning disabilities can open doors to more appropriate education and better outcomes for teens struggling with school. Our team consists of psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and a neurologist. We have full on-site testing available for evaluation of young people who show poor academic performance and learning difficulties.

A “learning disorder” is a term for any significant impairment in learning, which can result from:

  • An emotional basis
  • Intellectual limitations
  • Learning “differently” in the classroom setting
  • A combination of all of these

Learning disabilities affect various areas of life including:

  • Developmental and speech delays.
  • Emotional problems or sensory deficits
  • Executive Functioning Difficulties (Disorganization, impulsivity, integration difficulties, low frustration tolerance, difficulty in handling emotions (affect regulation), and problems with memory, attention and time management)

To be eligible for learning disabilities evaluation, first you must enroll in our mental health services.

We Provide:

  • Comprehensive psychological testing, including cognitive, academic, emotional, and social assessment
  • Assessment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorders (Asperger’s and Pervasive Developmental Disorder)
  • A comprehensive report that includes findings and recommendations
  • Feedback provided to the young person, their family, and/or the school
