Some urologic conditions can be treated with medicine, but should you require a procedure to treat your condition, Mount Sinai Morningside offers the latest minimally invasive outpatient procedures, and robotic surgical techniques which utilize small incisions, and result in less post-operative pain, and a quicker recovery time.

Our urology specialists have expertise in the following conditions and treatment options:

  • Bladder, kidney, adrenal, prostate, and testicular cancers
    • Treatment options may include surgery, immunotherapy, radiation therapy or chemotherapy, or a combination of these treatments. In some cases of early stage prostate cancer, monitoring through “watchful waiting” may be appropriate 
  • Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or enlarged prostate, which can cause frequent urination, especially at night.
    • Treatment options may include outpatient procedures such as Rezum, Urolift, bipolar transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), greenlight laser, photoselective vaporization of the prostate (PVP), aquablation therapy, holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP).
  • Overactive Bladder, Urinary Urgency, Urinary Frequency and Urinary incontinence (loss of or reduced bladder control)
    • Treatment options may include behavioral techniques, exercises, medications, devices, or surgical procedures. We also offer intradetrusor Botox and sacral nerve stimulation.  
  • Hematuria (blood in urine)
    • Treatment may include medications or minimally invasive procedures to treat the source of the bleeding
  • Kidney stones
    • Treatment options may include laser or ultrasound techniques. For multiple or larger kidney stones, minimally invasive surgery may be recommended.
  • Female urologic conditions, which can include pelvic organ prolapse (loss of or reduced muscular support for pelvic organs), pelvic pain, frequent urinary tract infections, or interstitial cystitis
    • Treatment options may include strengthening exercises, medications, support devices, or surgery.
    • We offer sacral neuromodulation and Botox, or chemodenervation of the bladder for patients.
    • We offer Bulkamid/injection of bulking agent into the urethra or female midurethral sling surgery

    • Treatment options can include medications, behavioral changes, injections, or surgery
