Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights is committed to excellent patient care and the improving the health of the community. Our medical office provides personalized and coordinated health care for the “whole person,” rather than a specific health condition. Essentially, we are delivering a new model of health care delivery for the Brooklyn community.
Our office is equipped to provide exceptional care to patients from birth through a full lifetime. We offer our patients and their families a one-stop shopping medical experience, with Mount Sinai board certified doctors and the benefit of a multispecialty practice that encompasses a wide range of outpatient services. Patients have the convenience of a doctor’s visit that includes diagnostic services using the latest technology all under the same roof. Instead of traveling to another facility for clinical lab testing (such as blood and urine) and radiology services, those services are available to our patients in our Brooklyn Heights location. Therefore, results can be quickly transmitted to the doctors, and therefore patients.
Patients have peace of mind knowing that Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights uses a state-of the-art electronic medical record that expedites communication with all providers involved in their medical care.
The Primary Care Physician
We encourage patients to establish a relationship with a primary care physician at Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights. This internist or pediatrician is responsible for helping patients maintain overall health. This relationship serves as a patient's "medical home."
As your medical partner, the primary care physician focuses on maintaining your overall wellbeing. He or she can give you an examination, prescribe medications, and answer any medical questions you may have – in addition to providing referrals to specialists, if you need them.
If you have a chronic health condition, such as diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, high blood pressure or high cholesterol, you do not have to navigate a complicated health care system. Your primary care physician does this for you.
A primary care physician will refer a patient to a specialist, if he/she needs one, and will coordinate that care. And, for your convenience, those specialists are also available to you right here at Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights. We offer specialty services, including Allergy, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Ophthalmology (Eye Care), and Pain Management. A primary care physician may direct a patient to a specialist when a condition relates to a specific part of the body (e.g., heart) or requires an operation with specialized equipment.
For example, a patient with diabetes may alternate visits with his other internist and the endocrinologist.
Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights has answered the need for walk-in, extended hour access to health care with the opening of an Urgent Care Center for non-life-threatening medical needs. When primary care physicians or pediatricians are not available to see you right away, you can count on our professional, personalized medical attention on Monday-Friday from 8:00am-8:00pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-5pm. Our advanced laboratory and radiology services help the physicians treating you to make a prompt diagnosis.
