Neurology

About Us

In addition to providing the best possible care for each of our patients, our goal at the Mount Sinai Epilepsy Center is to work toward improving treatment options for epilepsy and to advance our understanding of the brain mechanisms that cause the disease.

Our team of superb epileptologists (neurologists with special training in epilepsy), neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, psychiatrists, dieticians, social workers, and rehabilitation specialists work together, drawing on each of their areas to take care of you as a whole person. Using the most advanced diagnostics and therapies available, we are skilled in personalizing a treatment plan to help you enjoy life beyond epilepsy symptoms.

Epilepsy Research

Our program is also engaged in multiple research projects with scientists at The Friedman Brain Institute and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. We are studying microscopic DNA/RNA and the dendritic spine of the neuron, and are conducting our research at both the individual and population level. We may talk to you about clinical trials and research projects; we would welcome your participation.

If you are interested in helping us, we use donations to fund research, education, and clinical programs, all with the objective of making significant improvements in the lives of people living with epilepsy.
