A postdoctoral fellow position is available for basic science and preclinical research of myeloproliferative neoplasms in Dr. Ronald Hoffman's lab at the Tisch Cancer Institute, Mount Sinai School of Medicine. The qualified candidate will work with other members to characterize cancer stem cells that are present in patients with primary myelofibrosis (MF) and to examine the effects of therapeutic strategies on these MF-stem cells.
The qualified candidate should have an M.D. and/or Ph.D or equivalent degree with research experience in the fields of blood cancer or normal hematopoietic stem cell biology. Experience with primary cell culture, gene expression profiling, real-time quantitative PCR, western blotting and with mouse models is highly desirable. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required. Strong work ethic, creativity, and enthusiasm are required.
