Pediatric Radiology

At Mount Sinai, our experienced pediatric radiologists work closely with referring doctors to select the most appropriate imaging study to help us diagnose your child’s condition. It is important to use the right test so that we can design the best treatment plan for your child. Whenever possible, we use scans that do not require radiation exposure, such as ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging. When we do need to use radiation (such as with plain film radiography, fluoroscopy, computed tomography scans, nuclear medicine, or interventional radiology), we use the least amount of radiation possible to give us an accurate diagnosis.
