Today's GeriPal podcast features R. Sean Morrison, MD, co-director of the Patty and Jay Baker National Palliative Care Center at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He discusses a new report titled, "How We Work: Trends and Insights in Hospital Palliative Care." The report was co-produced by the National Palliative Care Research Center and the Center to Advance Palliative Care. “Clearly what I would really like to see is that number of programs who have a board certified physician or advance practice nurse in palliative medicine be at 100% or at least 95%,” Dr. Morrison said. “I can't think of any other specialty where we would accept the fact that, for example, somebody is practicing cardiology and works in a cardiovascular institute but is not board certified in cardiovascular medicine.”
