Mount Sinai Queens Director Honored for Women’s History
Last week, Congressmember Carolyn Maloney and Assembly member Aravella Simotas hosted "Celebrating the Women of Western Queens", to commemorate Women’s History Month during a ceremony at the Astor Room in Astoria. Among this year’s celebrants was Caryn A. Schwab, Executive Director of Mount Sinai Queens, who received the Excellence in Public Health Award. Under her direction, Mount Sinai Queens has received accreditation by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center, the only hospital so designated in the borough of Queens, and adopted an electronic health record, earning recognition by the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society.
