With the goal of enhancing health care services for the residents of New York City’s southernmost borough, the Mount Sinai Health System has announced the acquisition of the newly-renamed Mount Sinai Doctors Victory Internal Medicine, a medical group practice based on Staten Island.  Featuring 13 physicians at two locations in the neighborhoods of Annadale and Westerleigh/Willowbrook, Mount Sinai Doctors Victory Internal Medicine is the newest addition to the System’s expanding services in the borough and beyond.

“The staff and leadership at Victory Internal Medicine are longstanding and well-respected members of their communities, dedicated to providing comprehensive, quality care to their patients,” said Arthur Klein, MD, President of the Mount Sinai Health Network. “We are proud to welcome them into the Mount Sinai family.”

This acquisition supports the Mount Sinai Health Network’s strategic development and ongoing efforts to expand services on Staten Island.  Victory Internal Medicine currently provides internal medicine, nephrology and podiatry services; additional internists and specialists are expected to join the staff in the near future.  In addition to their community practices, Mount Sinai Doctors Victory Internal Medicine also provides hospitalist services at Richmond University Medical Center and Staten Island University Hospital as well as medical management and oversight to patients in local nursing homes.

“Our medical leadership and entire staff are very proud that the Mount Sinai Health System chose to partner with Victory Internal Medicine on Staten Island,” said David Wortman, Chief Operating Officer of Victory Internal Medicine.  “This partnership will greatly enhance our mission to provide the very best medical care on Staten Island and will offer seamless access to a world class academic medical center when necessary.”
