WCBS-TV - "Mount Sinai Unveils Exoskeleton That Allows Paralyzed Patients To Walk"

 – December 6, 2012 /Press Release/  ––

Paralyzed patients are actually walking again thanks to robots. Robert Woo is paralyzed from the waist down. He's walking with the help of robotic legs from Ekso Bionics. It's a bionic system being used at Mount Sinai's rehabilitation center, and spinal cord injury patients are beginning to walk again using robot legs. Woo demonstrated the robotic legs at an event at Mount Sinai on Thursday. "[This is mainly for] those who have broken the back in the middle of the chest and down through the upper part of the small of the spine," said Kristjan Ragnarsson, MD of The Mount Sinai Medical Center.
