"Hospital Readmission Common With Heart Failure"

For patients with hospitalization for heart failure, readmission within 30 days is common, according to a study published in The American Journal of Cardiology. "Although it may be necessary to readmit some patients, the striking rate of readmission demands efforts to further clarify the determinants of readmission and develop strategies in terms of quality of care and care transitions to prevent this adverse outcome," write Shilpkumar Arora, MD, an internal medicine resident at Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Mount Sinai West, and colleagues.
