"Doctors Implant First Leadless Pacemaker in New York Patient"
The first leadless pacemaker was implanted in patient Gregory Dobin as part of a clinical trial at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
"The catheter holds onto the device. We introduce it through the vein in the leg, go up into the heart and basically screw it into the heart muscle," said Vivek Reddy, MD, Professor of Medicine (Cardiology), and Director of Arrhythmia Services at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Gregory shared his story with NY 1 News.
