Medical Research interviews Ross Cagan, PhD, professor of developmental and regenerative biology and oncological sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai his recent research. “Large scale screening for new cancer drugs typically rely on either cell culture or biochemical assays. These types of systems do not take into account the complexity of cancer and drug interactions at a whole animal level. We developed a whole animal screening method using Drosophila (fruit flies) as a model organism,” Dr. Cagan said. Learn more.
