"Inhaled Corticosteroids May Benefit Patients With Sickle Cell Disease" - Melinda Stevens

Patients with sickle cell disease who did not have asthma experienced pain reduction after inhaling corticosteroids, according to results of a placebo-controlled trial. “This study is an important step in identifying a new treatment that may benefit millions living with sickle cell disease,” said researcher Jeffrey Glassberg, MD, an associate director of the Mount Sinai Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program.
