In “Caso Clínico”, Nivia Dones shares her inspiring story of a mother’s unconditional love and support through her daughter's battle with mental illness.

Elderly Health Specialist of ¡A tu Salud!

Dr. Florida Olivieri is a practicing internist at The Mount Sinai Hospital, specializing in Geriatric Medicine, as well as an assistant professor of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine. Dr. Olivieri received her medical degree from Temple University, and completed her fellowship in geriatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine after serving as the Director of Family Practice at Lutheran Medical Center in New York.

Her areas of clinical interest include osteoporosis, falls, and dementia, and she also has a strong focus on community outreach and education. She is the immediate past president of the Metropolitan Area Geriatrics Society, and currently serves as a board member at Linkage House, a senior housing establishment in East Harlem, and the Icahn School of Medicine Community Advisory Board.

Dr. Olivieri is the director of the Geriatrics Bench to Bedside course at Mount Sinai, and is an active educator and mentor. She has helped train countless physicians, medical students, residents, and fellows, and has won excellence awards for her professorship at Mount Sinai.\
