Suzan Uysal, PhD, ABPP-CN is a board certified neuropsychologist, educator, clinician, and researcher.
Dr. Uysal has been dedicated to educating future neuropsychologists for many years. She teaches Functional Neuroanatomy and Clinical Neuroscience in the Department of Psychiatry predoctoral internship and postdoctoral training programs in Neuropsychology, as well as in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine predoctoral internship and postdoctoral training programs in Rehabilitation Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology. She is an adjunct faculty member in the New York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology, where she teaches a graduate level course tilted Neuropsychology.
Dr. Uysal’s primary clinical focus is neuropsychological assessment for differential diagnosis of dementia syndromes. She also performs neuropsychological assessment in patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy and other neurological disorders.

Neurocognitive Outcomes and Neuroprotection
Dr. Uysal’s research has focused on neurocognitive outcomes and neuroprotection in cardiac surgery. She is a co-editor of a clinical handbook titled Neuroprotection in Critical Care and Perioperative Medicine, with co-editors David L. Reich, MD and Stephan A. Mayer, M.D. (Oxford University Press, 2018). Past clinical research areas include functional cortical mapping in epilepsy surgery candidates and quality of life following traumatic brain injury. Prior to that she worked in basic behavioral neuroscience research on studies focused on neural mechanisms related to substance abuse disorders and schizophrenia.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their relationships with such companies.
Dr. Uysal has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.
Mount Sinai's faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
Physicians who provide services at hospitals and facilities in the Mount Sinai Health System might not participate in the same health plans as those Mount Sinai hospitals and facilities (even if the physicians are employed or contracted by those hospitals or facilities).
Information regarding insurance participation and billing by this physician may be found on this page, and can also be obtained by contacting this provider directly. Because physicians insurance participation can change, the insurance information on this page may not always be up-to-date. Please contact this physician directly to obtain the most up-to-date insurance information.
Insurance and health plan networks that the various Mount Sinai Health System hospitals and facilities participate in can be found on the Mount Sinai Health System website.
