About Me

Stella Dracheva (Plevan) is a Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.  She is a member of the Friedman Brain Institute.  She is also a VA/MIRECC Research Scientist at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center.

Stella Dracheva received her bachelor and doctorate degrees in Biochemistry from the Moscow State University in Russia.

Dr. Dracheva's laboratory studies the neurobiology of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders through understanding the cell-type-specific epigenetic regulation of gene expression. Her team applie a combination of molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics approaches to address these complex questions.
