Biography
- Dr. Nguyen was born in Vietnam and grew up in the San Francisco bay area. He graduated from UCLA and UC Davis. He completed his General Surgery Residency and Fellowship training in Laparoscopic Surgery / Minimally Invasive Surgery at Mount Sinai and has been in New York since 2001.
Dr. Nguyen's interests are in minimally invasive operations for abdominal and gastrointestinal disorders. He has published in all aspects of surgery including laparoscopic surgery for inflammatory bowel disease, surgical weight loss, abdominal hernias, and intestinal and colorectal malignancies. In addition, surgical education is a primary interest as he is the associate director of the department's Surgical Simulation and Education Center.
He also directs the Surgery Residency's Surgical Skills Training Course. He is also a physician leader for Mount Sinai's Electronic Medical Record Implementation.
