About Me

Dr. Robin Phillips is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Geriatrics and Palliative Care at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Phillips specializes in gynecology.

For 35 years Dr. Phillips has been in private practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She specializes specifically in midlife women’s health and menopause management, as well as the gynecologic care of the geriatric woman. Included are the treatment of atrophic vaginitis, hormone management, endometrial biopsies, osteoporosis and osteopenia, female sexual dysfunction and pessaries for pelvic prolapse. For a decade she has tested her patients with a positive family history for the genes that confer an increased risk for breast, ovary and colon cancer. Her commitment to early breast cancer detection led her to be one of the first gynecologists in New York City to offer infrared breast scanning to her patients.

Dr. Phillips has been a member of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) since 1999 and is a Certified Menopause Practitioner since 2009. She has been certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) since 1984.

Dr. Phillips was the consulting editor for The Menopause Bible – The Complete Practical Guide to Managing Your Menopause, published by Firefly Books in 2005, which has been translated into several languages and was re-issued in 2016 as Your Menopause Bible by Octopus Publishing. She was a guest on the national television show The Doctors, where she addressed the topic of infrared screening using the NoTouch BreastScan for the early detection of breast cancer. For her Fifty @ Fifty series, Tracey Jackson filmed Dr. Phillips talking about transdermal estrogen, which is posted on YouTube.

Castle Connolly has named Dr. Phillips as one of the best gynecologists in New York annually for more than 10 years. In 2017 Castle Connolly honored her with an Exceptional Woman in Medicine award.

Dr. Phillips received her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (CUNY) in New York City. She completed an internship in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, followed by a four year residency in OBGYN.
