Reena A. Garg, MD specializes in comprehensive consultation and care for a range of general eye diseases including the medical, laser, and surgical treatment of glaucoma and cataract. She is an Assistant Professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology and serves as an Attending physician for the ophthalmology residents at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, educating residents both clinically and surgically. Dr. Garg graduated from Drexel University School of Medicine with high honors and completed her Internship at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She then completed her Ophthalmology residency at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine where she served as Chief Resident. There, Dr. Garg was actively involved in teaching and pioneered their formal surgical curriculum. She then went on to complete a highly intensive subspecialty fellowship in the field of Glaucoma at the world-renowned Columbia University in New York City. Dr. Garg has been actively involved with research throughout her education, being published in over 10 peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters under her name. Dr. Garg is known for her kindness and compassion towards patients, co-workers, and colleagues. She was awarded the prestigious Humanism in Ophthalmology award during her Chief Residency- an honor only given to one resident per year.
