Lourdes Oriana Linares, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (MSSM) Adolescent Health Center. Her major research interests include effective psychosocial interventions for young children in foster care, developmental psychopathology among maltreated children and co-parenting processes in foster care. She is the principal investigator in two current grants from the NIH and CDC focusing on the effectiveness of CTB-based interventions in foster children.
Dr. Linares received her B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas and her M.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri. She received her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Yeshiva University.
Prior to joining the faculty at MSSM, Dr. Linares was in the faculties of the NYU Child Study Center and Boston University School of Medicine. She also served as Director of the Child Psychology Clinic at the Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center at Boston Medical Center.
Dr. Linares serves in several NIH review panels and the Board of Scientific Counselors at the National Center for Injury and Violence Prevention of the CDC. In the past she was a Board Member of the New York Alliance Against Sexual Assault, and of the Institutional Board of Research Associates at NYU School of Medicine.
