Biography
- Dr. Cantor is Associate Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. He is a clinical psychologist and specializes in neuropsychological assessment, psychotherapy, and cognitive remediation with individuals with brain injuries and other neurological disabilities.
Dr. Cantor is a senior researcher and co-director of the Brain Injury Research Center of Mount Sinai.
Dr. Cantor received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Long Island University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in rehabilitation psychology and clinical neuropsychology at Mount Sinai.
Research
Dr. Cantor is a senior researcher in the New York TBI Model System, and the Mount Sinai Injury Control Research Center. His research focuses on individuals with brain injury and individuals with TBI in particular. His research has focused on the following areas:
- Cognitive rehabilitation and cognitive remediation after TBI
- Treatment of executive dysfunction after TBI
- Effects of aerobic exercise on cognition and mood following TBI
- Psychotherapy for post-TBI depression
- Screening for Post-TBI depression
- Community integration after TBI
- Fatigue and insomnia after TBI
- Sleep after TBI
- TBI outcomes
