About Me
Dr. Carbone is a psychiatrist and neurologist with subspecialty board certification in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry.
He currently serves as Medical Director of Adult Health Services at the Westchester Institute for Human Development, WIHD, in Valhalla, NY. WIHD is an Academic Center of Excellence for the treatment of adults with developmental disabilities. It is an integrated care center where patients receive primary care as well as a large variety of specialty care services.
In addition to serving as Medical Director of Adult Health Services, Dr. Carbone treats patients in both the Behavioral Health Division and the Neurology Division.
In the Behavioral Health Division Dr. Carbone practices Developmental Neuropsychiatry which involves the diagnosis and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders in patients with neurodevelopmental disorders.
In the Neurology Division Dr. Carbone treats patients with general neurologic disorders as well as those with genetic neurologic disorders and epilepsy. He treats patients with refractory epilepsy with both medication and neuromodulation (Vagal Nerve Stimulation). He also mentors neurology residents in their outpatient rotations and electives at WIHD
Dr. Carbone is also involved in the research activities of WIHD, exploring safer and more effective modalities for the treatment of neuropsychiatric and neurologic disorders affecting patients with developmental disabilities.
